Google Translate

In most instances, the free Google Chrome web browser will offer translation when detecting a website is written in a language that is not native to the location where you are viewing the website. If when using the Google Chrome web browser you are not automatically offered a website translation, follow the steps below.

You can instantly translate entire webpages using Google Toolbar.

Visit a webpage in a different language than your Toolbar. A translation bar will appear near the top of the page.
On the right side of the translation bar, click the gray Translate button or the Translate button in the Toolbar.

What you need to get started

To install the Google Toolbar, you'll need the following: 

  • Internet Explorer (IE) 6+
  • Windows XP, Vista, or 7+

Google Toolbar might not work on unofficial versions (like beta versions or early release candidates) of Internet Explorer or Windows.

Using Firefox? Google Toolbar no longer supports the Firefox browser.

Install Google Toolbar

  1. Go to the Toolbar homepage.
  2. Click Download Google Toolbar to install Google Toolbar for IE.
  3. You’ll see the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. To agree, click Accept and Install.
  4. When the Toolbar finishes installing, it will appear at the top of new IE windows.
